She Kills Monsters
Planet Ant Theatre stages Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters on Saturday, December 19, at 8 p.m. at Ant Hall in Hamtramck. A grieving sister uses her late sibling's Dungeons & Dragons notebook to get to know her at last. Tickets are available online.
When Agnes Evans loses her teenage sister Tilly, she realizes she barely knew her. Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook pulls Agnes into a fantastical world of epic quests, homicidal fairies, snarling ogres and 90s pop culture, as she tries to reconnect with her sister and find courage she never knew she had.
Part comedy, part heartfelt drama, part action-packed adventure, the play celebrates great storytelling and the geek and warrior in all of us.
Content advisory: strong language, stage combat, sexual references, and themes of grief, bullying and suicide. Recommended for ages 13+. The run goes from December 4 to 19, 2026. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
