She Kills Monsters
Planet Ant Theatre stages Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters on Saturday, December 12, at 8 p.m. at Ant Hall in Hamtramck. It's part comedy, part heartfelt drama, part Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
When Agnes Evans loses her teenage sister Tilly, she realizes she barely knew her. Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook pulls Agnes into a world of epic quests, homicidal fairies, snarling ogres and 90s pop culture, as she tries to reconnect with her sister and find courage she never knew she had.
The play celebrates great storytelling and the geek and warrior in all of us. Content advisory: strong language, stage combat, sexual references, and themes of grief, bullying and suicide. Recommended for ages 13+. The show runs December 4-19.
