Holiday Walk: Senior Day

Meadow Brook Hall's Holiday Walk has a Senior Day on Tuesday, December 15, with tours starting at 11 a.m. at the historic mansion in Rochester. It's a one-hour, self-guided stroll through the 110-room estate in full holiday dress.

Meadow Brook Hall has put on its Holiday Walk for more than 50 years. You wander at your own pace through about 50 decorated trees, flickering fireplaces and lights, from the Grand Ballroom to the Sun Porch. The tour takes about an hour and is entirely indoors.

Start times run every half hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hall closes daily from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to reset the tour route between the two shows. It goes on rain, snow or shine, and parking is free in Lot 61. The mansion sits on the Oakland University campus. Matilda Dodge Wilson built it between 1926 and 1929, and it's one of America's finest Tudor-revival homes.
