Holiday Walk: Senior Day

Meadow Brook Hall's Holiday Walk runs on Wednesday, December 9, with tours starting at 11 a.m. in the historic Rochester mansion. It's a 50-plus-year tradition, with about 50 decorated trees and flickering fireplaces to see at your own pace.

The Holiday Walk is a self-guided, one-hour tour for all ages. You wander through the 110-room Tudor-revival estate, from the Grand Ballroom to the Sun Porch, past some 50 trees, fireplaces and lots of lights. Matilda Dodge Wilson built the mansion between 1926 and 1929, and it's now a National Historic Landmark on the Oakland University campus.

Tours start at 11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30 and 3:00. The hall closes from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to reset the route. It goes on rain, snow or shine, and parking is free in Lot 61.
