Winter Wonder Lights lights up the grounds of Meadow Brook Estate on the Oakland University campus, and you walk it at your own pace. You can add a tour of part of the decorated interior of Meadow Brook Hall. There's music, selfie stations, bonfires, seasonal drinks and food trucks.

It goes on rain, snow or shine. Parking is free and a shuttle runs during the event. Entry times are 6, 6:30, 7, 7:30 and 8 p.m. Meadow Brook closes daily from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to reset the tour route between the daytime Holiday Walk and the nighttime light show.

Matilda Dodge Wilson built the hall between 1926 and 1929 for $4 million. It's one of America's finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture.
