Vacations
Newcastle indie rock quartet Vacations play The Majestic Theatre in Detroit on Thursday, March 4, 2027, at 7 p.m., with Twen opening. They bring songs from their new album, Pursuit of Anything, with warmer, fuzzier guitar pop. Tickets are available online.
Pursuit of Anything is Vacations' fourth album and the follow-up to 2024's No Place Like Home. The sound draws on the ornate chamber-pop of Weyes Blood and the fuzzy rock of Beach Fossils, and it feels more mature and warmer than before.
The record is about growing older, shifting lives and friendships that get stronger anyway. Bandleader Campbell Burns calls it their most refined and intentional effort, and the most full-band one yet. It follows a long run of touring that included late-night spots on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
