Wood-Fired Sauna at Belle Isle Beach
SOMi Sauna's wood-fired cedar sauna trailer sits on the sand at Belle Isle Beach in Detroit on Sunday, January 17, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the skyline across the river. A 75-minute session is $29.50, and you book ahead online.
SOMi Sauna parks its cedar trailer on the sand, just west of the Beach House. Sessions run 75 minutes, start every 90 minutes from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and seat ten people each. You can move between the 180-205°F hot room, a dip in the Detroit River, or a chair out in the open air.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, sandals and plenty of water. Sessions are for adults 18 and over, every guest signs a waiver, and the crew asks that you come sober. Sessions run in any weather, and parking in the beach lot is free. Book 3+ weeks ahead for 20% off, or 11+ days ahead for 10% off.
