Maggie’s Wake

Canadian folk-Celtic band Maggie’s Wake plays the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts in Manistee on Friday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. Expect Celtic jigs and reels, cajun twin fiddles and reggae rhythms in one high-energy, female-fronted show.

Maggie’s Wake formed in late 2022 in Ontario and quickly outgrew small halls, selling out many dates on their first holiday tour. They've showcased at Folk Alliance International in 2024 and at NERFA in Maine, and won both the Folk and World music awards at London's FCLMAs.

Songwriters Tara Dunphy and fiddler Lindsay Schindler write all the band's material. Their first single, Bridget O'Brien, won the NERFA Songwriting Award. They usually perform as a quartet, with Andrew Kosty on bass and Kenneth Palmer on guitar. The show runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
