Lady Champagne grew up in Louisiana, where she first heard down-home blues. At fourteen her family moved to Detroit's west side, and music became part of her life at Northwestern High School. She later hit the area's legendary blues clubs and shared stages with Johnny Taylor, B.B. King, Bobby Blue Bland and Tyrone Davis.

She was nominated several times for Best Blues Singer by the Detroit Black Music Awards Association and won in 2014. She is in the Detroit Blues Hall of Fame and was inducted into the National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2019. In 2024 Native Detroiter Magazine named her Blues Artist of the Decade. Her band has also opened for Bobby Rush.

The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until about 10.
