John McEuen & The Circle Band at The Ark in Ann Arbor

John McEuen, a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, brought his band to The Ark in Ann Arbor in January 2024. The evening walked through the backstory of the groundbreaking album Will the Circle Be Unbroken, featuring live performances of the related songs. Using rare 8mm footage and photos from John and his brother William E. McEuen, the show offered a unique look behind the scenes of this influential Americana and bluegrass music. Joining John were Les Thompson, Danny Knicely, Bryan McDowell, and a guest appearance by The Stranded Hoboes. John shared stories about his collaborations with legends like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Steve Martin, combining history and music into a memorable evening.
