Sammy Rae & The Friends play The Majestic Theatre in Detroit on Wednesday, March 3, at 7 p.m., with Sir Woman opening. Expect classic rock, folk and funk laced with soul and jazz; tickets are available online.
Sammy Rae & The Friends think of themselves as a family first and a band second, and it shows on stage. Their sound blends classic rock, folk and funk with soul and jazz, driven by tight chemistry, sharp playing and big vocals.
Sammy Rae moved to New York from Connecticut and built her own circle of friends, then invited the audience in too. Their 2024 debut album is Something For Everybody, and their new singles are You Just Wanna Get With My Friend and Boogie All By Yourself. They've also played Bonnaroo's main stage.
This is an all-ages show.
