Evelyn’s Midtown Kitchen – Date Night Bistro

This class walked through making a romantic coastal dinner from start to finish, featuring seared sea scallops with bacon-braised Swiss chard, an arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette and shaved Parmesan, and a rich dark chocolate molten lava cake with vanilla cream. The focus was on searing techniques, balancing flavors, and creating restaurant-quality dishes at home. Participants worked in groups of four sharing stations and equipment. Held in a cozy setting with 12 to 20 students at Eastern Market’s Shed 5, the session lasted about two to two and a half hours. Comfortable closed-toe shoes and secured hair were recommended for safety and comfort during the active, hands-on class.
