Hair
Wayne State University Theatre and Dance stages the rock musical Hair on Saturday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Hilberry Gateway in Detroit. Expect "Aquarius" and "Let The Sunshine In" in a show built on sixties counterculture. Tickets are available online.
Hair is the American tribal love rock musical that celebrates the sixties counterculture: barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed. The score runs on an infectious, high-energy rock beat, with songs like "Aquarius," "Good Morning, Starshine," "Hair," "I Got Life" and "Let The Sunshine In."
The show digs into identity, community, global responsibility and peace, and asks what it means to be young in a changing world. It still feels current today.
The performance is at 4715 Cass Avenue in Detroit.
