Hair
Wayne State University Theatre and Dance stages the rock musical Hair on Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at the Hilberry Gateway in Detroit. Expect sixties counterculture set to a driving rock beat, with songs like "Aquarius" and "Let The Sunshine In." Tickets are available online.
Hair celebrates the sixties in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory. Along with "Aquarius," you'll hear "Good Morning, Starshine," "I Got Life" and the title song "Hair."
The show digs into identity, community, global responsibility and peace, asking what it means to be young in a changing world. It still feels current today.
The Hilberry Gateway is at 4715 Cass Avenue in Detroit.
