Session 1 Group Swim for Preschool Aquatics
Join the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics group swim lessons for 4-5 year olds at the Student Development Complex (SDC) Pool in Houghton. A parent must be in the water with each child to help them learn basic swimming skills and water safety.

The Session 1 Group Swim for Preschool Aquatics is designed for children aged 4 to 5 to get familiar with the aquatic environment and develop foundational water skills under guided instruction at the SDC Pool in Houghton. Parental presence in the water is required alongside each participant.
Participants will learn basic techniques such as safe water entry and exit, blowing bubbles through mouth and nose, bobbing, retrieving submerged objects, front and back glides and floats, body control and water manipulation, treading water with arms and hands, and leg and arm coordination. Importantly, children are introduced to water safety knowledge.
The course does not require any prior swimming experience. Personal item space is provided poolside, goggles are highly recommended, and showering before entering the pool is mandatory. Class size is limited to ensure quality instruction.
