The Importance of Being Earnest
Oscar Wilde's classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest opens Friday, February 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Beardsley Theater in Muskegon, presented by the Frauenthal Center. It runs through Saturday, February 27. Tickets are available online.
Jack plays the dutiful guardian in the country, but in town he lets loose under a false identity. His friend Algy cooks up a similar disguise. Trying to impress two eligible ladies, both men get tangled in a web of lies and have to tiptoe carefully to keep the truth hidden.
Wilde's razor-sharp wit drives this farce of double lives and mix-ups. If you like quick banter and comic chaos, it's a good night out.
