Stonewall Run Club

Affirmations LGBTQ+ Community Center's run club sets off on Wednesday, January 6, at 6:30 p.m. from Affirmations on Nine Mile Road in Ferndale. Pick a 5k or 10k route and finish at a local bar.

The run starts outside Affirmations on West Nine Mile Road. You can choose between two routes: the 5k loops through Livernois, Albany, Ferndale, Leroy, Marshall and Allen, while the 10k heads out to Central and Pinecrest first. Both finish on West Troy Street behind Soho and Sidecar Slider Bar. On even weeks (2nd and 4th) the night ends at Soho, and on odd weeks (1st and 3rd) at Sidecar Slider Bar.

Weather calls are made by 11 a.m. on Wednesdays based on radar and posted online. Active rain, lightning or other unsafe conditions along the route cancel the run. No update by 11 a.m. means it's on. Once a regular crew has formed, a canceled run becomes an indoor social meetup at Soho / Sidecar Slider Bar from 7 to 8 p.m. Announcements go out on @stonewalldetroit and @goaffirmations.
