Béla Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart
Béla Fleck brings his My Bluegrass Heart project on Thursday, November 12, at 6:30 p.m. to Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak. The 19-time Grammy winner returns to his bluegrass roots with a killer band. Tickets: $49.20.
For over forty years, Béla Fleck has pushed the banjo into new territory—19 Grammys across genres to show for it. Here he circles back to bluegrass: My Bluegrass Heart is the third chapter after Drive (1988) and The Bluegrass Sessions (1991). Onstage with him are top-flight pickers Michael Cleveland (fiddle), Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Jeff Partin (dobro), Mark Schatz (bass, multi-instrumentalist), and Jake Stargel (guitar).
The show starts at 6:30 p.m. at Royal Oak Music Theatre. If tight picking and spirited solos are your thing, this crew delivers.
