2nd Saturdays: Pirate Treasure Hunt

Grosse Pointe War Memorial's family morning sails in on Saturday, January 9, at 9 a.m. at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms, with a pirate treasure hunt for kids ages 3 to 10. Crafts, storytime and a live stage show are on deck, and parents get in free.

This month's theme is pirate adventure: treasure maps, hidden clues and high-seas fun. Kids can work through three craft stations, make a pirate keepsake to take home, sculpt with modeling clay, and try an interactive challenge. The youngest guests can color pirate-themed pages, and a live family-friendly stage show is part of the morning.

Storytime is in the recently restored Alger House Library at 9:15 or 9:45 a.m. Tickets are $10 per child, parents attend free and get complimentary coffee. The program wraps up at 11 a.m.
