This concert is a journey to beginnings. In ARCHORA, Anna Thorvaldsdóttir looks for the origins of life in music shaped by primordial forces. Katherine Balch's violin concerto Artifacts is a tribute to her friendship with DSO Concertmaster Robyn Bollinger. Beethoven's Fifth then builds a whole world from the smallest musical seed.

A 30-minute pre-concert talk starts one hour before the performance, with conductors, musicians or other experts sharing background on the music. Seating for the talk is general admission in Orchestra Hall, so you can try a different spot than your ticket. The concert is part of the PVS Classical series.
