Legato Memory Café

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra hosts its Legato Memory Café on Tuesday, July 6, 2027, at 1:30 p.m. at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. It welcomes people living with dementia or other cognitive changes and their care partners, and participation is free.

This monthly gathering mixes creative activities like music-making, painting and storytelling with easy conversation and light refreshments. You get a name tag when you arrive and a few minutes to settle in, then spend about an hour on the activity. Refreshments and chatting follow, usually for 20 to 30 minutes. No medical diagnosis is needed.

The café meets in Allesee Hall. Participation is free and registration is encouraged. Parking is complimentary, and registered guests get arrival instructions by email 48 hours ahead. Reservations are limited to 4 people per group, so if you want to bring 5 or more, contact the DSO's accessibility team first. Space is limited.
