Legato Memory Café

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Legato Memory Café welcomes people experiencing dementia or other cognitive changes and their care partners on Tuesday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. Music, creative activities and conversation, and participation is free.

This monthly gathering is about connection and support. You get a name tag and a few minutes to settle in, then spend about an hour on a group activity or craft, such as music-making, painting or storytelling. Light refreshments and conversation follow, usually 20 to 30 minutes.

No medical diagnosis is needed. The café meets in Allesee Hall and parking is complimentary. Participation is free, though registration is encouraged. Reservations are limited to 4 people per group; for 5 or more, contact the organizers ahead of time. Registered guests get parking and arrival instructions by email 48 hours before.
