Legato Memory Café

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra hosts Legato Memory Café on Tuesday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. It's a welcoming gathering for people living with dementia or other cognitive changes and their care partners.

Legato Memory Café is a monthly gathering for people experiencing dementia or other cognitive changes, along with their care partners and loved ones. You get a name tag and a few minutes to settle in, then spend about an hour on a group activity or craft, such as music-making, painting or storytelling. Light refreshments and conversation follow, usually for 20 to 30 minutes.

The group meets in Allesee Hall inside the Fisher Music Center. Participation is free and registration is encouraged. Registered guests get parking and arrival instructions by email 48 hours ahead, and parking is complimentary. Reservations are limited to 4 people per group, and space is limited. No medical diagnosis is required.
