Legato Memory Café

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra hosts Legato Memory Café for people living with dementia or other cognitive changes and their care partners on Tuesday, January 5, 2027, at 1:30 p.m. at the Max M. & Marjorie S. This monthly gathering is for people experiencing dementia or other cognitive changes, along with their loved ones and care partners. When you arrive, you get a name tag and a few minutes to settle in. Then comes about an hour of a group activity or craft, followed by light refreshments and conversation, usually 20 to 30 minutes. The space is welcoming, and activities are designed so people of all abilities feel comfortable. No medical diagnosis is needed.

Participation is free, but registration is encouraged since space is limited. Reservations are capped at 4 people per group; for 5 or more, email accessibility@dso.org. Parking is complimentary, and registered guests get arrival instructions by email 48 hours ahead.
