Sensory-Friendly Concert: Kris Johnson Group

Kris Johnson Group plays a 45-minute interactive concert on Sunday, July 11, at 3 p.m. at The Cube in the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's sensory-friendly show welcomes people with neurodiversity or developmental disabilities and their families.

The idea is that everyone can be themselves: move, dance, make noise when you're excited, and come and go as you please. The audience size is limited, the lights stay low, and there's a quiet space for breaks.

Hands-on activities run from 2 to 3 p.m., so come early. Noise-cancelling headphones and fidgets are available in limited numbers. Parking is complimentary, and DSO staff were trained by the Mid-Michigan Autism Association. An information guide and social story help you prepare ahead of time.
