Detroit's first legal casino opened in 1999, and the Art Deco-themed resort by the Lodge Freeway followed in 2007: 400 rooms plus 65+ suites, the IMMERSE spa and an indoor pool. You have to be 21 to check in, but your dog is welcome.

The Ilitch family's casino resort on Grand River Avenue, in the old Wonder Bread bakery: the casino opened in 1999, the 400-room hotel tower in 2007, with 33 premium suites, the D.Tour Spa and the Sound Board concert theater.
