The Henry Ford's evening Halloween walk returns to Greenfield Village in Dearborn for its 46th season, October 1–4, 8–11, 15–18 and 22–25 (Thursdays to Sundays), 6–9:30 p.m., with more than 50 costumed characters and scenes from The Wizard of Oz and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Tickets run $28–$42, and several nights sell out, so book early.

As part of the Detroit Jazz Festival, renowned Japanese jazz musician Himiko Kikuchi and the Tottori Young Lions Trio performed a jam session at Cliff Bell’s. Kikuchi has a long-standing career with international festival appearances and has been organizing cultural exchange programs between the Detroit Jazz Festival and Japan in recent years.

Vermilion Field is a quintet formed in 2005 blending jazz with funk, Latin, gospel, progressive rock, and African music influences from Berklee College training. They have released multiple studio albums and a live album, regularly performing internationally. They are this year's Takatsuki Jazz Street exchange band at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
