Dexter Cider Mill's Apple Daze comes to downtown Dexter on Saturday, October 3, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with free hayrides running out to the mill, which has been pressing cider since 1886 and is in its 140th season.

Ferndale Parks & Recreation throws its fall festival at the Detroit Curling Club at Martin Road Park on Saturday, October 3, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., with hay rides, pumpkin painting and a trick-or-treat trail. Tickets are required: $8 early bird through October 1, $10 after.

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy throws Detroit Harvest Fest on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 11 a.m.–8 p.m., at Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, with live entertainment, local vendors, a food truck rally, full bars, a pumpkin patch and kids' activities. Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door, free for 3 and under, 65+ and active military.

The Detroit Zoological Society's merry-not-scary Zoo Boo fills the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak with trick-or-treat stations, live entertainment and costumed characters on October 3–4, 9–11, 16–18 and 23–25, from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $21–$25 ($27 at the gate) through the zoo's webstore.

Detroit Social Walk Club leads a women’s walk on Saturday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m., starting at Cullen Plaza in Detroit. You’ll stroll the Riverwalk along the waterfront; registration is through the organizer.

The RE/STRICT Film Festival takes over Planet Ant Theatre, 2357 Caniff Street in Hamtramck, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 7 p.m.. Tickets are for ages 21 and up only, and nobody under 21 gets in. If you can, add a small donation to your ticket: it funds a limited number of free tickets for people who couldn't otherwise afford to come.

Every Saturday from October 3 through October 31, 7–10 p.m., Upland Hills Farm in Oxford runs family-friendly, not-haunted evening hayrides with a cup of cider, a fresh donut and bonfire access. It's $10 per person, free for 24 months and under, and no reservations are needed.

Attendees could purchase additional tickets for the Chihuly: Radiant Forms exhibit. Lunch options and extensive walking were part of the outing.
