The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy throws Detroit Harvest Fest on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 11 a.m.–8 p.m., at Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, with live entertainment, local vendors, a food truck rally, full bars, a pumpkin patch and kids' activities. Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door, free for 3 and under, 65+ and active military.

The Parade Company's 44th annual Turkey Trot kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026, at Griswold and Fort downtown, with the 10K and 5K running up Woodward on the parade route, and thousands of runners doing it in costume. Register on RunSignUp; the Mashed Potato Mile is $35 through November 24.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix runs June 4-6, 2027, on the downtown street circuit along Jefferson Avenue and the Riverwalk, with INDYCAR, IMSA sports cars and INDY NXT. Friday, June 4, is Free Prix Day with free admission; tickets for the weekend are at detroitgp.com.
