Russ Macklem is a Detroit/Windsor-based trumpeter, composer, educator and recording artist. His 2023 debut album, The South Detroit Connection, was JUNO-nominated and was the first live album recorded in Windsor in 22 years. The Russ Macklem Detroit Quintet performs regularly across the Midwest.

The Henry Ford's evening Halloween walk returns to Greenfield Village in Dearborn for its 46th season, October 1–4, 8–11, 15–18 and 22–25 (Thursdays to Sundays), 6–9:30 p.m., with more than 50 costumed characters and scenes from The Wizard of Oz and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Tickets run $28–$42, and several nights sell out, so book early.
