The Detroit Institute of Arts shows its 14th annual Ofrendas exhibition, Day of the Dead altars made by local artists and community members, September 26 through November 1, 2026, during museum hours. It's included with museum admission, which is free for residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

COMPÁS (Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest) hosts its Day of the Dead 5K and 10K at Patton Park in Southwest Detroit on Sunday, November 1, with the race starting at 9 a.m. sharp and money raised for COMPÁS youth performing arts.
