The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy throws Detroit Harvest Fest on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 11 a.m.–8 p.m., at Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, with live entertainment, local vendors, a food truck rally, full bars, a pumpkin patch and kids' activities. Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door, free for 3 and under, 65+ and active military.

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy holds its yearly Day of the Dead celebration at Robert C. Valade Park on Sunday, November 1, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., with food, live entertainment, shop vendors and kids' activities, plus a community ofrenda where you can add a name or message for a loved one. The Parade Company's 44th annual Turkey Trot kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026, at Griswold and Fort downtown, with the 10K and 5K running up Woodward on the parade route, and thousands of runners doing it in costume. Register on RunSignUp; the Mashed Potato Mile is $35 through November 24.

The NCAA Men's Final Four plays at Ford Field on Saturday, April 3 (national semifinals), and Monday, April 5, 2027 (championship), the first time back in Detroit since 2009. The weekend starts Friday, April 2, with Fan Fest at Huntington Place running April 2-5; look for game tickets on the NCAA's official ticket site.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix runs June 4-6, 2027, on the downtown street circuit along Jefferson Avenue and the Riverwalk, with INDYCAR, IMSA sports cars and INDY NXT. Friday, June 4, is Free Prix Day with free admission; tickets for the weekend are at detroitgp.com.
