Grosse Pointe War Memorial hosts a Harvest Dinner on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:30 p.m. at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms: a prix fixe menu by Executive Chef Joe Paxton followed by The Aston Neighborhood Pleasure Club. Fall flavors meet early New Orleans–style jazz. Tickets: $85.

Birmingham Pumpkin Patch: A free costume party in Shain Park
The City of Birmingham throws a free Halloween costume party in downtown's Shain Park on Saturday, October 24, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., with costume contests, bounce houses, an exotic zoo, food trucks and dance parties. Kids can pick and decorate a pumpkin, get their faces painted and ride the train.

Grosse Pointe War Memorial hosts a Gingerbread House building competition on Sunday, November 15, at 12 p.m. in Grosse Pointe Farms. You get three hours to build solo or in a small team; kits are provided, and the winner earns a table for four at Breakfast with Santa. Registration is $35 per team.

Tree Lighting Ceremony
Grosse Pointe War Memorial kicks off the season with its Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, November 22, at 4 p.m. in Grosse Pointe Farms.
