A drive-in on Ford Road since 1950, right at the Dearborn–Detroit line: five screens, open year-round, with car heaters in winter. With nine screens and room for 3,000+ cars, it was once the largest drive-in in the U.S.

Bel-Air Drive-In

Detroit

An Eight Mile Road drive-in from 1950 to 1986, with a model train for the kids and, eventually, four screens and room for 3,000 cars, one of the biggest around.

1948–1984

Dearborn Drive-In

Dearborn Heights

A drive-in on Ford Road with room for 1,040 cars and a miniature train for the kids. The Dearborn Drive-In showed movies under the open sky from 1948 to 1984, with two screens by the end.

1938–1977

East Side Drive-In

Harper Woods

Where the drive-in era started around Detroit: the area's first one opened on Harper Avenue in 1938, simply called the Drive-In, with room for 675 cars.

1940–1984

Westside Drive-In

Oak Park

One of the earliest drive-ins around Detroit, on Eight Mile: it opened in 1940 with a John Wayne picture and room for 700 cars, and folks also knew it as the 8 Mile Drive-In.
